ยางกันซึม เป็นสำหรับเชื่อมรอยต่อของคอนกรีต เช่น การก่อสร้างตึกสูงๆ ที่มีห้องใต้ดิน หรือสร้างสระว่ายน้ำ บ่อเก็บน้ำทั้งที่อยู่ใต้ดิน หรืออยู่บนยอดตึกสูงๆ งานของกรมชลประทาน ยางกันซึมจะเป็นตัวกั้นน้ำซึมได้เป็นอย่างดี เพราะการหล่อปูนเราไม่สามารถ จะหล่อให้เสร็จภายในวันเดียวได้จึงจำเป็นต้องใช้แถบยางกันซึม เพื่อกันไม่ให้น้ำซึมตรงช่วงรอยต่อ
